What are piezoelectric switches?

Piezoelectric switches, also known as piezoelectric tactile switches, utilize the piezoelectric principle to generate electrical signals through mechanical pressure. This technology is based on the piezoelectric effect: When certain materials, such as ceramics or crystals, are mechanically deformed, they generate an electrical voltage.

When pressing a piezoelectric switch, the user exerts pressure on a piezoelectric ceramic or crystal. This pressure generates an electrical voltage, which is then converted into a switching signal.
